Contrasts

One of my favourite things about London is the contrast between historical buildings and the sharp lines of modern architecture...some bits more attractive than others :0)

Hope you like these shots I took today...

  1. I'm growing to love the Barbican, I'm there quite often visiting friends who live nearby.

Greenwich is mad for mixing historic and new architecture, if you stand near the Queen's House you can see some old stuff framing the skyscaper-tastic buildings of Canary Wharf.

  2. I know what you mean about the Barbican...I used to find it really ugly, but today it seemed strangely beautiful...

It's funny how everything is kinda slotted into gaps in history...I suppose it's quite often when there was bombing, but it makes for an interesting tapestry!
